So it happened, I find a piece of undetermined melted mess that collided with the bread tin in the oven….. and I see a Storm Trooper mask straight away. Perhaps too much time looking at character costumes, watching films or building them, who knows! Maybe even a Rorschach test in the making….
Whilst eyeing up pieces of plastic as movie characters, this week we have also been welding parts of the 3D printed gauntlets for the Batman costume together. We’ve also purchased some new fabric to make a second Batman cape, as well as more 3D printer upgrade parts.
Our next tasks are to finish the gauntlets, make the cape, and move onto the leg pieces for Batman. In between this, add the upgrades to the 3D printer! Below is a picture of where we have got to with the chest piece for the 3D printed Batman costume. This has been digitally designed, 3D printed and constructed by us, Bespoke Fantasy Costumes. It has so far been welded together, filled and sanded down, with a coat of paint primer added. This piece just needs a top layer coat now to give the glossy black look that Batman is known for.
The 3D printed Batman mask is also now nearly completed, with the welding and sanding done, and our own unique fitting system added. Again this piece is now just waiting for the black look!
